CLINICAL CORNER: FROZEN SHOULDER SOLVED!
Thursday, February 11th, 2010TREATMENT: We found significantly increased trigger point activity in the subscapularis and infraspinatus muscles, along with significant restriction in inferior, anterior and posterior glides of the right shoulder. Patient received MyoFascial Trigger Point Therapy for the subscapularis and infraspinatus muscles along with some Muscle Energy Technique for shoulder abduction and external rotation. After 5 sessions we introduced grade III & IV mobs to open up above mentioned capsular restrictions. Patient re-gained 80% of normal shoulder mobility and a pain level of 1/10 after a total of 11 manual therapy sessions. It is projected that patient will be completely discharged in another 3 sessions.
